Rebuilding Master Cylinder

I try my best to be a responsible motorcycle owner but, like owning any vehicle, it can be a lot of work! And sometimes you just ignore the check engine light for as long as you can…
So several years ago my bike failed tech at a Thunderhill track day because the master cylinder was cracked. We ended up safety wiring the master cyclinder on, and I continued on my merry way like that for the track day and onwards to a few months ago.

My new battery came in pretty quickly, but the regulator/rectifier took several weeks! My poor bike was exploded the whole time. I’m grateful it didn’t rain.
So the first thing is that the wiring and plugs for the new R/R didn’t match the wire and plugs for my stator wire plug. You can see the old R/R has a single wire plug and in fact only has 5 wires coming out of it.
Diagnosing Motorcycle Electrical Problems

Back in Austin I had some electrical problems with the bike that I decided to put off because it was winter and I wasn’t really riding as much anyways. It started when I accidentally left the parking lights on (why is that even a feature?) at work, then culminated with the bike dying at stop sign on my way home. I thought the battery was toast from being drained so many times so I bought a new battery.
